I am the daughter of Raymond Schulte, pilot of this flight in 1967. What is this all about and why is very thoughtful and would like more information on this. My mother Catherine Schulte just passed away in Dec 2001 and she would have been glad to see this.
Thank you

I was thirteen yrs. old and living in Hampton, VA when I heard the bulletin on the car radio that lazy summer day, less than an hour after the tragedy near Hendersonville occurred. Even now, this particular one seems like just yesterday, because of a very peculiar circumstances which happened just days before the accident (I'll spare the details-- some of you surely wouldn't see any personal significance to it).

Although I knew none of the victims from the Flight 22 disaster, this one stands out foremost in my mind, even after the September 11, 2001 atrocity.

Flight 22 was not only Piedmont Airlines' worst accident ever (and not their fault in any way), it was also the WORST air disaster in the United States for the entire year of 1967.

Mr. Houle is to be highly commended for his caring efforts!
Flight 22-- never to be forgotten, but hopefully, never to be repeated.
