CITIZEN-TIMES.com: Obituaries

Sad news from Verne Crisp & Donnie Martin & Wayne Rankin of Eddie Gabriel’s passing. . . . . .

This from Verne: I understand that Ed Gabriel was found dead in his driveway in Fletcher, NC this morning (2-24-2010). Perhaps a heart attack while putting out the trash. I believe that Ed was hired at HKY, he worked for me at AVL as a customer service manager. My email inbox is full right now as I've been in the hospital for the past 10 days, but doing much better now. I will have my email straightened out by tomorrow and should be able to receive mail once again.

Ed and I worked together for about 5 years starting in the spring of 1974.It was my privelege to be associated with him. He was always clean and neat and in proper uniform, always on time, always armed with a good attitude and always capable of doing his job.I do not think Piedmont ever had a better employee than Ed and I know that I never had a more loyal person working for me in all the 33 years I spent with Piedmont.Rest in peace my friend.
