Gerald Wingo 72, of Roanoke, Va. died suddenly Sunday, August 23, 2015 at home. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Mason and Mary Helen Wingo and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 53 years, Dianne Aliff Wingo, daughters, Debbie Wingo (Rob), Denise Scothorn (Mac), Kim Bradley (Todd), grandchildren, Hunter, Parker, Carrington Scothorn and many granddogs.
Gerald is survived by his brothers Mason Wingo (Jane) Greensboro, NC., Gary Wingo (Anne) Alpharetta, GA., Special aunt Jodi Mullins (Bev), uncle Vernon Wingo, sister-in-law, Hillary Dorvin (Mike), brothers-in-law, Mike Aliff (Lee), Chris Aliff (Louisa), Many dear cousins, nieces and nephews.

Gerald graduated from Roanoke Catholic School, attended UVA. He was a Member of Saint Andrews Catholic Church. He was employed by Piedmont Airlines / US Air from 1962-1994 and retired. Gerald presently worked for Goodwill Industries. He was a man of many jokes full of life. All that knew him loved him and his witty sense of humor, Gerald never met a stranger, his passion was working in the yard and spending time with his family. He had a heart of gold and always made sure everyone was taken care of. He will be missed by so many.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to Angels of Assisi.
