MYRTLE BEACH, SC — Horace Elmo Bryant, 84, husband of the late Mary Frances Bryant, died Friday, October 16, 2015 at his residence.

He was born August 20, 1931 in Smithfield, NC a son of the late John A. and Bertie Alice Messer Bryant. He is also preceded in death by a step-daughter, Paulette Guy Hall; two brothers, Dwight Bryant, and John Bryant, Jr.; two sisters, Helen Barbour, and Peggy Person.

Mr. Bryant graduated from Massy Hill High School in 1950 and was a veteran of the US Navy, and was a station manager with Piedmont and US Airways Airline Company.

He is survived by his companion, Ruth M. Ausband; two step-sons, James L. Guy, and Troy S. Guy both of Hope Mills, NC; one step-daughter, Karen Guy Dees of Fayetteville, NC; one brother, James O. Bryant of Shallotte, NC; twenty grandchildren, and twenty- three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 18, 2015 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at McMillan-Small Funeral Home, Myrtle Beach, SC. There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 11:00-11:45 a.m. prior to the service. The interment will follow immediately at Lafayette Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity the donor’s choice.
