High Point January 9, 2016 J. A. Pegram , 88, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Moses Cone Hospital. He was born in Guilford County to the late Ernest Whitt and Carrie Jane Pope Pegram. J. A. was a graduate of High Point College earning a B. S. degree.

He was a maintenance supervisor for Piedmont Airlines, retiring in 1988 after 33 years with the company. He was a veteran of the Air Force.

J. A. was a member of the Fairfield United Methodist Church and the Wesley Fellowship. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 289 in Winston- Salem.

J. A. loved Piedmont Airlines, NASCAR, Gardening, and all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. J.A. is preceded in death by a brother Francis Pegram.

He is survived by his wife Mary Corn Pegram of the home, a daughter Carol Joe and husband Alan of Georgia, two sons Timothy and wife Patricia of New Mexico, Bobby Jay and wife Shawn of North Carolina, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers , Cecil, Charles and Fred.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, January 13, 2016, 1:00pm at Fairfield United Methodist Church in High Point. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park in High Point. The family will greet friends at the church from 12 to 1pm on Wednesday. Sechrest Funeral Services in High Point is honored to be serving the family.
